Personal finance, for people who forget
Most people do not lose track of money because they overspend. They lose track because nobody writes it down. Deben writes it down.
No card. Export everything in one click, in plain JSON.
How it works
Your bank already texts you every time money moves. Forward those messages and Deben reads them, matches the account, and files the transaction — with no AI at all for formats it already knows.
Known formats are matched by pattern, instantly and offline. Nothing is sent anywhere to read a message it already understands.
When a message quotes your balance, Deben compares it with its own and records the difference — so spending it never saw still shows up.
Anything it cannot read with confidence waits in a review queue instead of guessing at your money.
Insights
A figure on its own tells you nothing. Every total here carries what it was last month, where it went, and which shops took it — so you can see a habit rather than a balance.
For irregular income
Most budgeting apps treat a month with no income as a mistake. If you freelance, it is just a quiet month. Deben is built for that.
“Money spent without any record.”
The problem Deben was built to solve — and the reason it starts by writing things down.Built properly
Every amount is a whole number of the smallest unit, so nothing rounds and nothing drifts.
No balance is stored. Each one is added up from its transactions, so it can never wander away from them.
Right to left throughout, Arabic-Indic numerals, and Egyptian pounds as the first currency rather than an afterthought.
Export the lot as plain JSON whenever you like. No lock-in, and no subscription to get it back.
Install it to the home screen. It keeps working without a signal and tells you how old the figures are.
Every row is fenced to your account at the database itself, not merely hidden by the app.
Free, in the browser, on your phone. It takes about a minute to add your first account.
